He chuckled at her question. “Really, Punzie? Come on. You know I’m an excellent driver!” he called back to her over the roar of the wind in their ears. His heart danced in his chest as her arms tightened around his waist.
They wove through the cars and trucks, not a problem encountered. The city life faded out slowly, more and more trees and grassland taking its place. The houses seemed to spread out, and get bigger and older. He turned into a familiar dirt driveway in front of a quaint farmhouse with yellow shutters. He stopped the bike and set his sneaker-clad foot on the ground. “See? Excellent driver.”
Rapunzel jokingly tightened her arms around him a tiny bit, as if she was fearing for her life. But her grip loosened back to its previous state after a laugh passed her lips. “Uh-huh. Sure you are Peter.” She mused over his shoulder. She alternated from enjoying the view of everything flying past them, to admiring Peter secretly.
As they pulled onto a dirt driveway, she found herself wondering more and more where they were going. When they stopped she rolled her eyes playfully once more at him. “Come on Peter. You know I trust you with my life.” She smiled, stepping off the bike, and very reluctantly taking her arms away from Peter. “So, where’d you bring me?” She questioned with a sparkle in her eye as she glanced around at their beautiful surroundings. “I’m already in love with it.”
Peter broke out in a grin when he saw her coming, looking absolutely stunning in just a pair of shorts and a tshirt. He shook his head teasingly at her, his heart leaping as she pressed against him on the seat. Leaning forward to start the motor, he laughed. “You’ll find out when we get there.”
He revved the engine, curling his fingers around the handlebars. God, it felt good to be back on his bike. He had missed not being able to drive it while Tink was pregnant. He slowly walked the bike backwards, using one hand to move Rapunzel’s arms around his waist. He kicked off and they shot forward into the oncoming traffic.
His smile made her heart melt, and all the problems of her life seemed to fade away. Rapunzel rolled her eyes in a playful manner has he refused to tell her where they were going. “Fine, be that way.” She teased, sticking her tongue out at him. But once her tongue was back inside her mouth, her smile returned to her lips. Peter made her feel good, even at the lowest of low. He was good for her, and that scared her a bit.
She let his hand guide her arms around his waist, and she held on tightly. “Should I be trusting you to drive me around on this thing?” She joked, resting her head on the back of his shoulder. She watched the town and trees whiz by as Peter maneuvered his bike into the oncoming traffic. Riding on the back of Peter’s motorcycle didn’t frighten her, or make her worry that something would happen. Not even a tiny bit. She trusted Peter, with everything, heart and life included.

Peter trotted outside into the bright sunlight, a grin splitting his lightly stubbled face. Jude was being babysat, and was essentially out of his hair for the day. He crossed the parkinglot over to his motorcycle and straddled it. His heart pounded as he waited for Rapunzel. He was so excited to introduce her to his Uncle Smee.
And, even though he knew that his uncle would ask about Tinkerbell, he just didn’t care at that moment. He just wanted to see the look on Rapunzel’s face when he showed her his horses.
Rapunzel changed out of her sweatpants, actually wanting to go somewhere for once in the past week or so was a good feeling. On top of that, she also wanted to look good for Peter— a dumb girl thing, yes— but still. She pulled a pair of shorts onto her hips and then pulled a shirt over her head. A soft smile had been latched onto her lips since Peter had texted her. Suddenly nothing else mattered but having a good time with Peter, and her heart raced at the idea of having a day with him to herself.
She tucked her phone in her pocket and practically raced down the stairs and out the door. She rounded the building to make her way into the parking-lot, she came to a stop as she found Peter waiting on his motorcycle, and her smile grew. “Hey you.” She mused, sliding onto the back of his bike as she closed the distance between them. “So, where exactly are we going?”

As they began to walk towards the rotating doors, Flynn grasped her hand tightly in his own. Looking to her, he listened to why she didn’t want to go inside. He knew she feared the boy more than anything in life. But that’s why she had to go inside and face the facts. If Chris really was in there then there was a slim chance that they would receive him as a doctor. Even if they did, Flynn knew they could still request a different one. Picking her up bridal styled, he scooped her up in his arms and began carrying her inside the building. “Then I’ll just carry you the entire way and there’s a very slim chance he’ll be yours,” he said, kssing her nose as they reached the receptionist.
Rapunzel wrapped her arms around Flynn’s shoulders as he lifted her in the air, a soft giggle leaving her. It felt good to laugh, like a breath of fresh air. He was right, there was a slim chance that Chris would be their doctor. Plus, she had him with her, Chris wouldn’t do anything with Flynn around, right? As they approached the receptionist, Rapunzel offered a soft smile to the lady, who gave them a strange look at the way they approached her. “Okay, you can put me down, Flynn.” She whispered to him, dropping to her feet as he let her go. “Uhm, we need to see a Neo-Natal doctor please.” Rapunzel told the receptionist, who told her they would call her name once it was her turn. “Rapunzel.” She informed the lady before pulling Flynn into the waiting room with her and plopping down on a chair. Her hand gripped his tightly as the nerves set back in.

Pulling her back into his loving embrace, Flynn smoothed a steady hand over her silky blonde hair. He knew she had anxieties about doctors. Though he never knew why or questioned it, he knew. Placing yet again, another tender kiss atop her head, he nodded slowly in understanding. Flynn had to know as well. Though he knew it would come in time. “Alright,” he said, taking a deep breath and letting it out through his nose, calmingly, “We’ll go now.”
Rapunzel let every motion of Flynn’s comfort her. He was truly her rock in this situation. The thought of it brought another batch of tears that she swallowed back. Her father had been her rock for so long now, and now he wasn’t here. “Thank you.” She breathed when he said they could go now. The car ride was a blur, even the walk to the car was a blur now. Rapunzel stepped from the car, determined to put her past behind her and make herself go into the hospital. But as she took a step closer to the building the image of Chris’s figure in his white coat flashed before her and she stopped dead in her tracks. Today was definitely taking an emotional toll on Rapunzel. “Flynn I can’t.” She breathed. “Chris. He’s a doctor. That’s why I hate doctors and anything to do with it. What if he’s here?” The fear was evident in her voice, because Rapunzel feared Chris more than anything.

Beginning to sway them back and forth in a simple effort to calm her down, Flynn placed another kiss the the top of her head. No tears escape his chocolate almost black eyes. He knew in the deepest parts of his mind that he was without a doubt ready for this. Yes, he feared that he would potentially become his own father. But at the same time he was so determined not to that there was no room to disbelieve the very prominent fact that he would not be the man his father was. Thomas Rider was a drug addict with a sex addiction problem. It was why his mother used gambling to distract herself from another woman coming in and out of the house to riddle her worries. Now that he thought about it, Flynn felt horrible for blaming her for all the strife and woe that the family had been through. Every bit of it was his father’s fault and he was right for hating him so. “We don’t have to go now, but if you want to we can. Stop apologizing, Pun,” he cooed, using the nickname he had came up for her but never once used. Flynn had always resorted to calling her Doll for no real reason in particular. “None of this is your fault, okay?” he said, pulling her away at arms length and staring into those gorgeous aquamarine eyes of hers, “Absolutely none of this is your fault.”
Rapunzel had to force her lungs to inhale slow, deep breaths. She knew that she really shouldn’t be freaking out this much, but she couldn’t calm the emotions swarming around inside her. Each emotion was its own bee, stinging away at her heart and lungs, and every other vital organ inside her. The other nagging feeling, that wasn’t connected to any of the emotion bees was a slithering snake, choking her organs in turn. It was the knowledge that her mother would be disappointed in her. Her mother would practically disown her, and there wasn’t any way around it, because summer was coming up, and she her mother would expect her to come home for the summer. Flynn’s soft words brought her back from the image of everything going on inside her— metaphorically of course. Her eyes stared into his as he made her look at him. She nodded in acknowledgement as he told her that it wasn’t her fault, even though the feeling didn’t subside, she let him comfort her, because God knows she needed it. “I-I have to know.” She sighed, once again chewing on her lip for a moment. I do not want to go to the doctor. She had feared the doctor and anything to do with it since she had found out that Chris was a doctor. “Please, I have to know if it’s his or not.”

Hearing those words spill out of her mouth, there were two emotions that strongly radiated from him. The first was excitement that he would be a father. The second was rage towards the man who dared violate his girlfriend again. His entire body shook with the rage as he ached to go search for the fucker and kill him himself. But he needed to stay with Rapunzel and support her with whatever decision she wanted. Yes, he wanted the baby. But he knew that she was scared out of her mind and needed his support. He also knew that if it was that fucker’s that she wouldn’t want to keep the baby. Let alone let it grow inside of her. So, ultimately, everything they did from this point on was her decision and Flynn would stand by her no matter what choice she made. In a two steps, he was by her side. Wrapping his arms around her tightly and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “Shhh,” he whispered to her as he pressed his cheek to the place where he had kissed her, “everything will be okay. This will all be okay. I won’t let him get to you ever again. You’re my girlfriend, my love, my doll, my Rapunzel and nothing is ever going to hurt you again. We will do whatever you want, it’ll be okay.”
Rapunzel felt weak after the words had left her mouth. Like suddenly the world was collapsing around her. It was all to real admitting it out loud, and she couldn’t even bring herself to say that Cynthia had every intention of coming back to take her. Rapunzel’s muscles twitched in anxiety but also from exhaustion. She was honestly at a loss for where she stood on the matter. Part of her feared that she would be a bad mother, if she decided to keep it. Part of her was already falling so deeply in love with the baby growing in her, but the part of her that feared that it was Trevor’s restricted her from loving it too much. She wound her arms around her waist as she watched emotions play over Flynn’s features. He was obviously trying to figure out which one to act upon. She body shook with the sob that she could no longer keep inside, and her arms unwound from herself to wrap around Flynn as he pulled her close. “I’m sorry Flynn. I’m so sorry.” She breathed, unsure if she was apologizing for what Trevor did, or for being pregnant. Rapunzel buried her head in the crook of his neck and fell silent, letting her thoughts take over her. If it was Flynn’s, she was ninety-nine percent sure that she would keep it. She couldn’t bring herself to terminate a pregnancy which held Flynn’s child. But if it was Trevor’s…..she knew it would haunt her day after day.
“We should go to the….doctor.” She whispered into the crook of his neck, though she hated the idea. She knew it was easily said, and not so easily done. But she had to know, the need to know if it was Flynn’s or not ached through her whole body. “At least get a rough idea if it’s yours or not.” Rapunzel breathed, when she pulled away from his neck to lock her eyes with his, she was all too aware that a thousand emotions were clearly stamped on her face, and causing the blue-green of her eyes to look almost crystal-like.
